Lake Santa Fe is a big part of my life.  Since my family and I live on the lake we interact with and enjoy it on a daily basis.  The lake has become part of our family and we have an endearing "sense of place" and home when near it.

Lake Santa Fe is designated by the State of Florida as an Outstanding Florida Water which, according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, means it is "worthy of special protection because of its natural attributes." The lake is over 7 miles long and 3 miles across, it is considered the headwaters of the Santa Fe River, the largest tributary of the mighty Suwannee River.
